Prof. Dr. Bulitta is Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Healthcare at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden, Germany, and Chair of its Institute of Medical Engineering. He is Scientific Director of the Hygiene Technology Competence Center (HTK) and chairman of the committee "Management of hygienically relevant areas in medical facilities" of the Society of German Engineers (VDI).

 

He has broad, international experience and knowledge in clinical medicine, healthcare and the medical technology industry. The focus of his work lies on hygiene and infection prevention, including antimicrobial surfaces, and the development of new digital approaches for innovative and process-oriented technology management to increase productivity in the healthcare sector.

After his medical studies at the University of Heidelberg and clinical work at various German university hospitals, Prof. Bulitta was a Research Fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard University in Boston. From 2001 to 2012 he held various management positions at Siemens Healthcare, before being appointed as professor for Diagnostic Systems and Medical Technology at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden in September 2012.
